Tyson Chandler and Eddie Curry made their pro debuts playing for the Bulls' entry in the L.A. Summer League. Chandler finished with 8 points, 3 rebounds and picked up 5 fouls while seeing 23 minutes, 18 seconds of action in the Memphis Grizzlies' 109-71 rout of the Bulls. "I played terrible, but I knew I was going to be jittery," Chandler said. "But I'll come out (today) and work harder. I was very tentative at the start. . . . But the success of my pro career is all on me. I'll make or break myself. It has nothing to do with anyone else." Chandler didn't enter the game until 2:48 remaining in the first quarter and then played a total of only 5:14 in the first half before waving for a substitute due to exhaustion. Chandler's defensive inexperience was evident in the first half while guarding Battier, who finished with a game-high 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.

Curry didn't start and entered the game with 5:27 left in the first quarter. As he walked on the floor, a fan yelled, "This ain't high school." He responded with a block in his first series on defense. Then, most of his impressive plays came in the first half, in which he shot 5 of 8 and had 10 points in 10 minutes. Curry showed off his powerful inside moves and scored a team-high 13 points. Curry's body looked much more developed than Candler's. If Wednesday was an indication, then Curry might not have as drastic a transition as Chandler.
