From the New York Post: The agent for Latrell Sprewell said yesterday that Allan Houston's demand for a no-trade clause is ridiculous and would damage the Knicks' future.

Bob Gist, Sprewell's rep, told The Post he asked for no-trade clause, too, in October 1999 but got summarily rejected by former Garden prez Dave Checketts. Gist said he'd be shocked if the Knicks caved in to Houston's demand.

One small problem here: When Sprewell signed an extension in 1999, he didn't meet the criteria for a No-Trade clause. Perhaps that's why then-Garden President Checketts denied the request?
