Marc Berman of the New York Post reports that Chris Webber was marked off the Spurs shopping list when he held off setting up a meeting with the Spurs. The Spurs decided to go short-term and re-signed David Robinson to 2-year contract worth a reported $20-plus million.

Elsewhere, the Knicks are still courting Webber's services, have had talks with Shammond Williams' agent, expressed their interest in backup centers Calvin Booth of Dallas, Evan Eschmeyer of the Nets and Christian Laettner of Washington, and have not yet made an offer to Cleveland free agent Clarence Weatherspoon.
