Pacers coach Isiah Thomas met with the Webber family, minus Chris, in Detroit on Saturday.  He is hearing all the right things, about how the most sought after free agent in this year's free agency class is interested in playing for his ballclub, that he is intrigued at the possibility of playing alongside young phenom Jermaine O'Neal, that he would love to hook up with ex-Fab Fiver Jalen Rose, and most importantly he would get to play for a coach he respects and has known for the past 13 years.

The only ways Webber becomes a Pacer are if he either signs for the Mid-Level exception (1 year at $4.5M instead of $127M over 7 years), or via sign and trade which would strip the Pacers of some very good players.  Indiana is facing an uphill battle on this one, but with Webber interested there is still hope.
