Joe Smith, forced to leave Minnesota last year because of a series of illegal contracts, has rejoined the Timberwolves.  Smith's agent, Dan Fegan, told the paper that Smith orally accepted a six-year contract worth about $34 million earlier this week, but planning for a wedding had kept him from signing it immediately.

The signing of Smith likely signals the end of LaPhonso Ellis' stint in Minnesota. The Pioneer Plant reports this morning that Ellis has a multi-year contract in the works from an Eastern Conference team.
