The Atlanta Hawks announced today that they have signed free agent guard Emanual Davis, according to Vice President and General Manager Pete Babcock. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

"We wanted to bring in someone with significant size at that position," said Babcock, "to help up defensively as much as anything else to take some pressure off Jason (Terry). It will allow JT to cover point guards on the defensive end, and Emanual will be able to cover the shooting guards. He's got a great reputation around the NBA, great character, and is a very capable player. We're happy that he made the decision to join us."

"I'm ecstatic to be on a team that is changing and has the potential to really go something good," said Davis. "If we come in and work hard together and execute, the sky is the limit. With this group of guys, I really believe this is going to be a good situation and we'll do well together."
