In Sam Smith's latest column, he talks about Michael Jordan and why he thinks that the king will return to his throne, only this time in the nation's capital.  "He's Peter Pan" writes Smith. "He's a kid who doesn't want to grow up. He wants to play games. He just wants to play, not work. Not what the rest of us call work, anyway. He never really wants to grow up. And what's wrong with that if he can do it?"

He will not get any help, with Vince Carter and Paul Piece - the cream of the 98' draft crop - signing extensions with their current team.  The veterans who were willing to help - Ewing, Olajuwon, Barkey.. either have moved on to new teams or will not be coming, which makes it harder for MJ.  If he comes back there most likely will be no playoffs, but will this tarnish his image asks Smith?  "Look at Magic Johnson. He came back, played, coached, whatever. He never was the same. People looked away. But he's still regarded as one of the best ever. Time heals unpleasant events. No one can take away Johnson's accomplishments, and history will regard Jordan as the best, no matter the conclusion of this comeback."

Should he return it will hurt Bulls' fans, no doubt, but in time people will forget his Wizards days and remember him as the Bull he truly is.
