Ham, who went for a second opinion in Indianapolis, had arthroscopic surgery Monday morning to remove loose particles and repair the torn lateral meniscus in the knee.

The Bucks expect the hard-luck Ham to miss the first four to six weeks of the season, meaning he will begin the year on the injured list.

Last season, the 6-foot-7 forward suffered a broken left foot in the third game and missed four months. Ham, who signed a two-year, $3.4 million contract last season, was not effective upon his return.

With Ham on the injured list until at least early December, forward Mark Pope will have a spot on the active roster to begin the season.
