Elton Brand had 25 points and 11 rebounds, and Quentin Richardson scored seven of his 17 points in the final eight minutes as the Los Angeles Clippers beat the visiting Phoenix Suns 111-102 Saturday for their third victory in four games without the suspended Lamar Odom.

''That's a good win against a team we're going to be vying for the playoffs against,'' Brand said. ''I liked my matchups a lot. Not to take anything away from Phoenix--they're good defenders--but I felt I could create today. I could pass the ball out if I was double-teamed, or get my shots.''

The Clippers shot 72.2 percent before halftime (26-for-36), building a 62-51 lead.

''They shot over 70 percent in the first half, and 58 percent for the game. You're not going to win many NBA games when the opponent does that,'' Phoenix coach Scott Skiles said.

The Clippers, who shot better than 50 percent for the first time this season, won at the Staples Center for the 16th time in 20 games.

Penny Hardaway scored 31 points and Stephon Marbury added 25 points and 11 assists for the Suns, who have lost three of their last four meetings with the Clippers after winning the previous 12.

''They're a really good team. You can't take anything away from them,'' Marbury said. ''They know that one of their main guys is out, but that gives an opportunity to someone else. And Quentin Richardson is really filling that role.''
