Player of the game: Phoenix has another triple threat besides Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling and Luis Gonzalez. Last night it was Shawn Marion, Penny Hardaway and Stephon Marbury, who lit it up at KeyArena and combined for 75 of the Suns' final 92 points.

Top reserve: Even against the post-less Suns, none of Seattle's inside players scored in double figures until late in the game. Forward Art Long, who had his first double-double Sunday, was the top reserve ? with six points and eight rebounds.

Digits: The Sonics were 5 for 20 from the three-point line.

You're blinding me: Guard Gary Payton must have been paying tribute to Michael Jackson's reunion concert on TV last night. How else to explain the Glove bustin' out with silver sneakers yesterday? The Nike shoes are louder than Payton's mouth, with shiny silver siding and tips.

Next: vs. Golden State, Friday, 7 p.m., KeyArena.

The Sonics placed starting forward Vin Baker and his bad left knee on the injured list yesterday and activated guard Shammond Williams. Under NBA rules, by being placed on the list Baker will miss at least five games.

Results from Baker's X-rays yesterday weren't good. The knee was drained and Sonics Coach Nate McMillan said it is still swollen, plus doctors found blood in the bruised knee. McMillan hopes the approximate two-week absence is enough to heal the knee.

The injury, which Baker believes is a result of bumping knees in an unknown game, continues his cycle of periodic injuries. Last season Baker had hand and back problems. This season, despite losing weight over the summer, he missed the Sonics' final two exhibition games with back spasms and Seattle's win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday with the knee injury.
