A few months ago Derrick Coleman, then with the Hornets, was considered untradeable.  Charlotte would have been happy to receive a bag of peanuts and a flat beer in exchange for the disgruntled forward, then something unexpected happened.  Coleman showed up for training camp in shape, then put in some solid performances during the preseason.  This was enough to catch the attention of Sixers coach Larry Brown, Coleman's former and now current team.

Averaging 18.9 points and 10.1 rebounds as a starter for the Sixers, Coleman faced his former team for the first time.  "It feels good to be here again," said Coleman.  Coleman scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in the Sixers win over the Hornets, but it was rave reviews from his coach that did the talking for him.  "He's been great," Sixers coach Larry Brown said. "The players are comfortable with him. He's getting better and better.  He's been our most consistent player."

Perhaps it is time Vin Baker started working out with Coleman during the offseason?
