Milwaukee Bucks reserve forward Jason Caffey, who was fined more than $63,000 for missing the team flight to Washington and the game against the Wizards Wednesday night, was excused from practice Thursday so he could seek medical treatment for anxiety, general manager Ernie Grunfeld said.

According to team sources, Caffey had an argument with coach George Karl during practice Tuesday morning. Karl had been particularly hard on the players since a 98-82 loss to Minnesota Saturday night, the Bucks' first defeat of the season, but Caffey might have taken the blanket verbal lashing more personally than others.

Caffey left after practice and did not rejoin the team at the airport that afternoon for the charter to Washington.
