Richard Walker of the Gaston Gazette reports: Charlotte Hornets general manager Jeff Bower hopes that the NBDL future will make it to where players  get NBA callups.

Bower said he plans to scout in person each of the eight NBDL teams at least twice in the coming weeks.

International uncertainty has helped create an influx of talent for the NBDL, the ABA and the reorganized league that could include players from the old CBA, IBA and IBL leagues.

Some players are reluctant to travel abroad given the current U.S. war on terrorism in Afghanistan. Plus, Bower has been told the market just isn?t what it used to be.

"Agents are telling me the market over there has just shrunk," Bower said. "A player who used to be able to make $300,000 is now being asked to take $100,000. Or less."
