The New York Times reports Marcus Camby worked his way around the perimeter of the lane, taking one jump shot after another. But after joining his first full Knicks practice since Oct. 27, Camby, who has a sore left foot, decided today that he was still not ready to play.

Camby, who had originally hoped to play his first game of the season Saturday, opted to rest a few more days before trying to return. He cautioned that the Knicks needed more than his return to improve.

"Just me being back isn't going to solve all our problems," he said. "I can't solve the problem of our best guys shooting 40 percent."

Camby said the Knicks were "not expecting any miracles when I come back."

"Let me rephrase that: People outside of this team are expecting miracles, not this team," he said. "We know we have to play better."

In other news, the Times reports that a MRI on Clarence Weatherspoon's foot revealed a tendon tear. Coach Jeff Van Gundy said he hoped Scott Layden would be able to add an inside player to the roster.
