Latrell Sprewell's baskets combine both an element of flair and a degree of difficulty. He can sometimes border on being out of control, even shuffle his feet before shooting and still sink a pull-up jumper with a defender in his mug.

He makes these types of shots all the time. Which makes it all the more perplexing that Sprewell, who can excel when there is utter chaos around him, is struggling to make a simple free throw when it's just he, the basketball and the hoop.

Sprewell led the Knicks in scoring for a fifth straight game in Tuesday's 85-71 victory over Milwaukee. He finished with 28 points on 12-for-24 shooting but missed three of six free throws. His three misses came early in the fourth quarter when the Knicks were up 69-62. Overall, the Knicks were 21 of 30 from the line.
