Having made so many early defensive mistakes, it should come as no surprise that a solid late-game offensive effort went wasted for the Toronto Raptors last night.

Allowing one of the NBA's best shooting teams a startling number of wide open jump shots, the Raptors suffered a 95-89 loss to the Bucks here last night that ended Toronto's road winning streak at five.

Coming off an uncharacteristic 71-point effort in their last game, the smooth-shooting Bucks exploded for a 12-for-22 third quarter that gave them an 18-point cushion that was too much for a suddenly efficient Toronto offence to overcome in the fourth quarter.

"It's not the last couple of minutes we're worried about," said Vince Carter, who helped get the Raptors within a basket with two minutes left. "It's the beginning of the game. That's what we have to work on."
