Sad is Michael Jordan being slowed by age. But he still can get 20 points on most nights.

Sadder is Alonzo Mourning being weakened by illness. But he still can get 20 points on some nights.

Saddest is Shawn Kemp moving in slow motion. He can't even get 20 minutes a night.

Kemp is a sorry sight to see these days. Then again, there's nobody who can be blamed but Kemp himself.

Years of gorging on food, beer and substances that can't be found at the supermarket (Kemp was in drug rehab earlier this year) have taken a toll. Kemp, in his second season with Portland after being forklifted out of Cleveland, is a shadow of the player he once was.

To realize how far Kemp has fallen, consider last weekend's game against Phoenix. Kemp had no need to take off his warmups since Trail Blazers coach Maurice Cheeks decided to give the puny amount of minutes that usually go to Kemp to recently signed Chris Dudley. Yes, that is the same Dudley Do-Wrong who was drafted by the Cavs way back in 1987 and is soon to be 36.
