The fourth-quarter meltdown arrived almost on cue, erasing all of a nine-point Heat lead.

Only this time, Miami found a way to survive a late-game malaise.

Eddie Jones' 6-foot running jumper with 10.5 seconds left -- the Heat's first field goal in 5:54 -- pushed Miami to a 99-97 win over Milwaukee on Tuesday and snapped the Heat's seven-game home losing streak.

``Just like coach drew it up,'' said Jones, who finished with 23 points but had trouble controlling Ray Allen (30 points).

``It's nice to win one of those games,'' said Heat coach Pat Riley, who won his first non-overtime game since opening night Oct. 31. ``It got hairy, but Eddie got the big one. If he would have missed it, Alonzo Mourning was under the basket.''

The win was preserved when former Heat forward Anthony Mason, swarmed by Jones and Mourning, missed a difficult shot from close range with 2.8 seconds left.

``There was contact, but it wasn't called,'' said Mason, who scored 11 points and heard scattered boos in his return to Miami. ``I have to put it in.''
