The Knicks sold out for the season before the opening tip-off.  They've even got 8,000 people lined up for future season tickets when they become available.

But the Times' Richard Sandomir reports that when you look up in the stands there are a lot of empty seats.  Hundreds, maybe thousands of them for most games.  But that didn't stop the Knicks from claiming their 402nd consecutive sell-out earlier this week.

A lot of it has to do with a mediocre team.  Sandomir quotes one fan, who says "My tickets have gone from $27 to $69 and there hasn't been a product upgrade."

The bubble hasn't burst yet, but there are strains showing.
