Pistons forward Rodney White has played in just two of the past 12 games, mostly in garbage time. He did not expect to be a benchwarmer at this point in his rookie season.

"At first I thought it was just going to be at the beginning of the season," White said Wednesday. "But we're 20 games into the season."

White said he has talked with president Joe Dumars about his lack of playing time, and he said Dumars "is ready" to see him play more.

"Yes, I have talked to Rodney and yes, I have told him that I would love to see him on the court," Dumars said. "But not at the expense of the team winning."

The Pistons took White with the ninth pick in the first round. Upper management touted him as one of the most talented players in the draft, but Dumars hasn't meddled with coach Rick Carlisle's player rotation.

"I support Rick Carlisle in his playing-time decisions," Dumars said.
