About the Jazz: This is the second game of Utah's annual pre-Christmas trip. Utah lost the first of the five games 100-80 Saturday in San Antonio. The Jazz has had a winning record on the trip in each of the previous three years. Utah has committed at least 17 turnovers in each of its past three. Power forward Karl Malone has led the Jazz in scoring 16 times and in rebounding 13 times. Jarron Collins, the No. 53 pick in the June draft, has started the past six games at center, with veterans Greg Ostertag and John Amaechi underachieving. Utah is 0-3 in overtime games and 4-12 when outrebounded. Forward Bryon Russell (pelvis) is on the injured list but could be activated.

About the Heat: For the sixth time this season, the Heat will attempt to string together its first winning streak. The Heat enters 3-3 in its past six after previously losing 12 in a row. The Heat is 3-4 against Utah over the past four seasons, going 1-1 each of the past two seasons. It has lost five of the past six meetings in Miami. Power forward Brian Grant averaged 19 points and 9.5 rebounds in the two meetings last season against Utah, compared to 24 points and 10.5 rebounds for Malone in the two games. Center Ernest Brown (thumb) and forward Malik Allen (knee) are on the injured list.
