Ron Artest made his season debut last night in Toronto while Charles Oakley re-visited the place he called home for the last three seasons -- with mixed results.

As the Bulls shot out to a 21-4 lead early, Artest and guard Trenton Hassell did a brilliant job containing superstar Vince Carter, holding him to four points on 1-for-7 shooting.

The second half, however, was to be a different story as Carter quickly heated up, going off for 29 second-half points to finish with 33 in the game.  Ex-teammate Oakley tried to halt Carters streak, almost ripping the high flyers head right off with a flagarant foul that saw him tossed with 8:52 remaining in the game.  One more flagarant and Oakley will be forced to serve a one game suspension as per league rules.

"I've seen worse than that," Oakley said. "They didn't have to carry him off the court."

''It's like when your mother beats you real bad, and you probably think she hates you,'' said Carter. ''And you want to call the police, but she really loves you. [RealGM: Hmmm... Weird!]

Meanwhile, Artest admitted that he was too excited coming into the game, which resulted in him playing below his abilities.

"I was playing hard but I wasn't playing well," Artest said. "I need to calm down."
