Maybe Marcus Camby didn't like his three point-blank misses in the last five seconds of Thursday's game against Memphis being showed across the league.  Or maybe he's just frustrated by the recent poor play by himself and his team.

Chris Broussard of the New York Times says that as Camby goes, so go the Knicks.  And Camby's performance recently has been weak.

But Camby said his low numbers Thursday were the result of the guards not getting him the ball.  "I wasn't involved really," Camby said. "We talk about how we're going to get me and Kurt more involved. But our point guards take more shots than our bigs down low. There has to be some sort of balance. They have to get us involved early since we're doing all the work ? the double- teaming, the rebounding. We have to get rewarded."  Mark Jackson was the main target of his comments.  This followed Latrell Sprewell's earlier criticism of Camby and Kurt Thomas.

In attacking Jackson, Camby seemed to be trying to shift the focus from his poor play. Coach Don Chaney said that type of attitude would destroy the Knicks from within.
