The Raptors' season flashed before their eyes as Vince Carter lay on the court, terrified by the lack of feeling in his left shoulder.

Late in the third quarter of the Raptors' 89-86 win versus the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center last night, Carter was driving to the basket through traffic when he was fouled by Devean George. Carter landed hard on his left shoulder and remained motionless for several minutes as medical staff examined him.

Carter eventually walked to the locker room under his own power. The initial diagnosis was a left shoulder strain. X-rays taken last night were negative.

"He's icing it," Raptors coach Lenny Wilkens said. "It's a day-to-day thing. We'll see how he feels (tonight)."
