John Delong of the Winston Salem-Journal writes: Those who know Paul Silas share a little secret that many around the NBA might not realize. Silas loves New York.

He and wife Carolyn have made their permanent residence in Westchester County since the early 1990s, when he was an assistant with the New York Knicks.

Here's another not-too-well-kept secret: Silas' dream job would be the head coach of the Knicks.

So what would Silas' chances be?

He has next year left on his contract with the Hornets, and it's likely the Hornets would want some kind of compensation to let him go to New York. If the Hornets demanded a draft pick, the Knicks might be reluctant to pursue Silas. Technically, the Hornets could prevent a deal.
