If twelve months ago you told Nets coach Byron Scott that this time next year he'd be in the All-Star game after his team accumilated the best record in the East he would have laughed in your face and called you crazy.  But as Liz Robbins of the New York Times reports it is true, Coach Scott will be coaching the Eastern All Stars at this year's event in Philadelphia.

Let by Jason Kidd and Kenyon Martin the Nets already have a 29-13 record this season, surpassing the 26 wins that Scott earned last year in his debut season.  Of course exchanging point guard Stephon Marbury with Kidd and re-gaining the services of some injured bodies sure helps the process.

The NBA deadline for determining coaching staffs for the All-Star game is this Sunday, but with the Milwaukee Bucks loss to the Seattle Supersonics tonight is it now impossible for the Nets to lose top place in the East before Sunday.
