Phoenix Suns guard Dan Majerle, who is in his 14th NBA season, said Tuesday he will retire after this season.
"It's time," Majerle said in an interview with the Traverse City Record-Eagle for Wednesday's editions. "My body isn't what it used to be. It's a real struggle some days."
Majerle, 36, played at Traverse City Central High School and Central Michigan University.
"I thought at the beginning of the season that this might be it, then I broke my finger (in October) and other things just followed," he said.
Majerle played 12 minutes Wednesday in the Suns' 107-92 loss at Minnesota and scored five points. Kevin Garnett had 33 points, 13 rebounds and six assists for the Timberwolves.
