Teams and players aren't allowed to say much about drug-related suspensions, so what Ron Tillerey says in the Memphis Commercial-Appeal is about as much as we're likely to get.

Buford is a two-time offender of the league's marijuana policy, including possession while crossing the border for a game in Toronto.

His transgression this time is apparently for not being available to officials in the league's follow-up counselling program.  Buford says, "I am heartbroken.  I feel that I have let everyone down with this suspension. Hopefully, I can be forgiven, and everyone can be supportive of me during this difficult time."

However, Tillerey isn't confident that Buford will pull through this.
