The time of year has arrived when there is usually some swift and decisive action from Toronto Raptors general manager Glen Grunwald, a week where he has historically tinkered with or entirely blown up his club's roster.

But this year, unlike any other in the history of the franchise, Grunwald may as well be on vacation.

The NBA's trade deadline is Thursday at 6 p.m. and all indications are that Grunwald will spend the time with his family rather than chatting with his fellow general managers.

He doesn't have a huge pressing need, his list of potential trade victims is too short and the team he's assembled might, some day, be pretty good.

The biggest reason that Grunwald won't likely make a deal is that he really doesn't have to.

The recent spate of injuries has only taken attention away from the fact the Raptors were starting to look consistently good if not impressive in January.

And that's why Grunwald should be willing to wait until all the parts get back ? Dell Curry and Jerome Williams should play Wednesday, Vince Carter might be back Wednesday or Friday ? to see what he's got.
