DALLAS - Rodney Rogers disagreed strongly when asked if he thought he was stepping into a good situation with the Celtics.

``It's not a good situation here,'' said the 6-foot-7 forward acquired from Phoenix on Wednesday with Tony Delk for Joe Johnson, Milt Palacio, Randy Brown and a first-round pick. ``It's a great situation. It's a great situation to be in. It's a nice, young team, and Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker have been carrying the team. Hopefully me and Tony can add to the supporting cast. They're our horses and we've got to ride them.''

Rogers was in uniform last night as the Celts took on the Mavericks, but C's coach Jim O'Brien said he planned to go light with his new arrivals until the club gets home and they can get a few practices under their belts.

Delk arrived in Dallas last night after visiting his father, who had suffered a stroke, in Tennessee.
