Sign Milwaukee coach George Karl up as an advocate for the Chicago Bulls trading their top four scorers for Jalen Rose, as they did last month.

"(Rose is) a very talented passer and scorer who can play inside or outside," Karl said. "And they're giving him the freedom. In Indiana he was crowded a bit. He's as free as he's been since maybe his last year under [former Pacers coach Larry Bird]."

So far Karl has been correct, with Rose averaging 23.2 points shooting a better percentage while dishing out 5.6 per game.  More importantly for Chicago Rose has demonstrated he has the ability to take over games and keeping his teammates involved at the same time, as evidenced by his 21 point first half against the Kings, a game in which he finished with 35 points and 13 assists.

"I don't want to be the kind of player who just passes only or shoots only," Rose said. "They are equal parts to my game. You have to have a healthy balance."

"If I wanted to play like [Allen] Iverson and [Tracy] McGrady, probably what they average," Rose said. "Not to take anything away from their production, it's just that is what their teams need them to do. That's not what my team needs me to do.

"I don't want to just try to see how much I can score and then nobody will gain from this year's experience. Obviously I'm going to play my game and do what I can to win as far as scoring.

"But I think we can get a lot more accomplished by allowing the young guys to grow so that next season when I make those passes and we're in the fourth quarter, guys will have that experience to fall back on. This is all about next season."
