The Chicago Bulls had their official team photo yesterday and there was one noticable, unexpected absentee, the infamous Charles Oakley.

Oakley, who has not been backwards in coming forward about his displeasure of being traded to the Chicago Bulls this season, missed practice and the team function Monday, leaving the team in the dark as to his whereabouts.  K.C. Johnson reported in today's Chicago Tribune that late Monday general manager Jerry Krause said he had left several messages for Oakley but had yet to speak with him.

One source close to Oakley said he e-mailed a message to athletic trainer Fred Tedeschi saying that he wouldn't make practice for personal reasons.  One of his teammates reported that Oakley had personal belongings stolen recently in Houston, and that he spent Monday morning dealing with the situation.

Oakley may be fined for the incident depending on his story, according to Jerry Krause, but one thing for sure is Oakley will not be heading anywhere.

"He's here for the rest of the season," Krause said.

"If he calls or comes in and says, 'Hey, I missed it for this reason' and he has a legitimate reason, then he won't be fined. You always give a guy the benefit of the doubt."
