While the New York Knicks are now in the lottery, coach Don Chaney believes that fans should not get the impression that the Knicks selection will change the fortunes of the organization.  Chaney doesn?t see any impact players in the draft, someone who could take the Knicks back to the post-season next year, not even Jason  Williams, Drew Gooden or Yao Ming.

"To step right in and make an impact, I haven't seen it yet - any real impact players," Chaney said. "I saw players who could play, good players, highly energetic that will probably help a team. But as far as impact players, I don't think so."

An impact player is a rare thing.  As Chaney said there are many extremely talented players who could step into a team and help, but he has yet to see a player who could take over and carry the Knicks back to playoff contention.  Starting shooting guard Allan Houston sees only two players who could help the Knicks if given the opportunity next season; Gooden and Maryland's Chris Wilcox, who may come out.

"A lot of people forget, you can't take a player at a college level and go think he's just going to do the same thing," Chaney said. "It's not the same. Sometimes you get caught up in that. That's the same as the summer league. A lot of people look at a guy dominating summer league you get to the big boys it's a different story."
