The have done it.  With last night?s victory of the Washington Wizards the New Jersey Nets have won the Atlantic Division crown for the first time in their existence, which ventures back 26 years to 1976.

"That banner is really going to mean a lot," said Keith Van Horn.  "It is hard to explain because I went through such a roller coaster from last year. It is almost surreal. No one ever thought we'd be sitting here in this situation. We proved a lot of people wrong."

It was a night of firsts with the team, slipping on Atlantic Champs t-shirts with less than a minute to go in the game, also winning 50 games for the first time in franchise history with the victory.

"Coach and Todd (MacCulloch with Philadelphia) are the only ones who have experienced this. I don't think we know how to act," said Jason Kidd, giving the game ball to Byron Scott. "(But) that's not going to make the season. We're looking at a bigger picture. We've got to get better because the real season is about to start in less than two weeks."

"I can only think what they're thinking about in New York right now when Madison Square Garden is going to be quiet. The excitement is going to be here," rookie Jason Collins added.
