If John Stockton had known it was going to be like this, he would have turned 40 several years ago.

Continuing a hard-to-believe hot streak since his milestone birthday three weeks ago, Stockton scored a season-high 26 points -- including 12 in the final 3:57 -- to lift the Jazz to a 109-101 victory over Golden State.

Stockton also contributed nine assists and four steals in 32 minutes Saturday night at the Arena in Oakland. He went 7-for-11 from the field and 12-for-12 from the free-throw line and did not commit a turnover.

"He had a terrific finish," coach Jerry Sloan said. "They went under screens a couple of times on him and he made a couple of big shots."
