Tied with the underdog Seattle SuperSonics at halftime, the Spurs rode a huge third-quarter performance by league MVP candidate Tim Duncan and rookie Tony Parker to a 110-89 victory.

It was one to savor for Spurs fans, many of whom see the team as the city's best selling point to the world.

"San Antonio is not like a little town anymore," said Hector Chacon, 26. "Everybody knows where San Antonio is at because of the Spurs."

"I think they are bigger than the Alamo," interjected his friend Chris Charo, 25, who kept waving a large poster he printed out at home: "Hey Spurs! Let's Retire This Dome in Style! Go Spurs Go!"
