Peter Vecsey of the Post updates a few of his reports from last week. He originally claimed that the Knicks declined a Glen Robinson for Latrell Sprewell trade. Now he reports that sources close to the Bucks claimed that they declined a much larger trade that was initiated by the Knicks. They also claim that the Bucks are waiting for word back on a counter proposal involving Marcus Camby.

"Seems to me," said one executive, "by putting it out there that they rejected Robinson, it seems to me the Knicks are simply trying to increase Sprewell's value. It's not as if he isn't being shopped all over the place."

Another update says that earlier reports of Baron Davis demanding a trade to New York (among other destinations) were true, but Hornet VP Bob Bass has notified Baron Davis, new agent Jerome Stanley and prospective suitors the team has no intention of yielding to trade demands to a major market.

"We're going to play according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement," a team official said. "Baron belongs to us next season and the one after that, too, providing we do what we have to do. If he doesn't want to play for the Hornets after that it's up to him, but we'll still be able to give him the most money."

Other Vecsey musings:

Dallas may have offered Nick Van Exel to the Knicks for Kurt Thomas and Charlie Ward.

Do the Clippers have a deal in place to swap picks with the Bulls in exchange for Lamar Odom, Quentin Richardson or Darius Miles?

The Cavaliers have stopped listening to offers for Andre Miller.
