Memphis? Stromile Swift has heard the rumors.  He knows his name is making the round in trade rumors.

The two main rumors he heard were that he was going to Orlando for Mike Miller or Miami for Eddie Jones.  Instead, Nick Anderson went to Cleveland for Wesley Person in a cap-clearing deal by the Cavs.

When asked about the rumors, Swift said, "If (the Griz) decide to trade me, it wouldn't affect me any."  Ron Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal said Swift's tone was hardly threatening.

Swift was asked what he thought would happen.  "They don't tell us nothing," he said, "so I don't know. We're going to be loaded at the four spot so whatever they decide to do, I'll be all right with it."

Swift now finds himself on a team that picked him #2 two years ago, then Pau Gasol at the same position with the #3 pick last year, and Drew Gooden with the #4 pick this year.  He knows there?ll be a battle for playing time.
In the meantime, the Grizzlies were hoping Swift would get some serious playing time this summer after an inconsistent (that?s being charitable) first two seasons.

He was expected to play in a California summer league that begins Sunday. But Swift is roughly three weeks from being able to play again.  He had toe surgery recently for an injury similar to what Shaq had last year.  Doctors shaved the bone in his right pinky and inserted a pin that is nearly twice as long as the toe.

His toe injury caused him to miss games frequently last season.  "The pin is in there to keep it straight," Swift said. "I have to keep that in for two more weeks. After two more weeks, it'll be a month. After that I'll be able to put a shoe on and get back at it."

Grizz fans wonder where he?ll be playing.
