Frank Isola of the New York Daily News reports that ?the trade that just won?t die? breathes again. Bucks head coach George Karl acknowledged yesterday that the Milwaukee Bucks are interested in obtaining Latrell Sprewell, but quickly added that he doubts his team will make any significant moves this summer. "We might be listening more than we did last year," Karl said. "But there's a good chance we'll go to camp with the same team we had last year."

When Sprewell?s name came up as a possible addition, Karl responded, ?Hell, yeah.?

Before the draft, there was talk of a Sprewell trade that would have brought Glenn Robinson and Ervin Johnson to the Knicks. But that trade never materialized.

Karl pointed out the misconception that his team is desperately trying to shake up their roster after failing to reach the playoffs last season. Instead, he blamed injuries for their lackluster play. The health of Ray Allen and Michael Redd may be part of the reason why Sprewell would be so welcome in Milwaukee.

The deal works for the Knicks because they would be getting a legitimate small forward in Robinson and a defensive center in Johnson.

"That's Ernie's area," Karl said of GM Ernie Grunfeld, who was expected to arrive here last night. "Right now, we're willing to listen to anything."
