Robbi Pickeral of the Pioneer Press reports that the Minnesota Timberwolves don?t want free agent Rasho Nesterovic to leave. Rasho?s agent, Bill Duffy said he expects the team to make a contract offer to his client within the next two weeks. Duffy wouldn't specify how much money the Wolves' starting center wants but said he expects it to be "an interim-to-long-term contract.''

"This will be a very important decision in his career, and we're eager to see what the Timberwolves are looking at,'' Duffy said. "We're waiting for them to submit a proposal... . then Rasho will have time to study it and think about it.''

Other teams are interested in Nesterovic, but they all know that the Timberwolves hold the right to match another team?s offer and intend to do so. Duffy asked the team to trade Rasho to the Knicks, but they refused.

If the Wolves don't sign Nesterovic to a new deal this summer, he will play in Minnesota for about $2.4 million this season and become an unrestricted free agent next July.
