Tom Enlund of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the Bucks are pondering their options. The Mavericks have signed Michael Redd to a 3-year, $12 million offer sheet and the Bucks have two weeks to decide whether they want to match the offer or not.

If they match, Redd will remain a Buck and back up Ray Allen, but their team salary will creep further above the projected luxury tax limit. If they decide to save the money and let Redd walk, they will go into the season with little depth behind Allen on the roster.

The Mavericks are skeptical of their chances of landing Redd with the offer they?ve given. In an e-mail response to a question from the Journal Sentinel, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban wrote, "I don't know what our chances are (of getting Redd) at all. We just thought Mike was a quality player that can help us and give us quality minutes."

Mavericks coach and general manager Don Nelson also did not sound optimistic that Redd would end up with his team. "I think it's a long shot," Nelson told reporters in Dallas. "But he's a heck of a player, a nice player, and a very good guy who would fit in well."

The Mavericks? offer is significantly greater than the 4-year, $6 million contract offered earlier this summer by the Bucks.
