PRESEASON RECORDS: Magic 0-1, Hawks 1-0.

BROADCAST: TV -- None. Radio -- 580 AM (WDBO) in Orlando; Spanish-language coverage on 1440 AM (WPRD).

MAGIC UPDATE: After a shaky performance in a 102-75 loss in Atlanta on Tuesday night, the Magic practiced for about 21/2 hours Wednesday, and the big men put in even more time. It was a physical, defense-oriented practice that saw Grant Hill knee Darrell Armstrong in the thigh and Mike Miller bruise a knee. Miller is expected to play. Armstrong's status is in doubt, though the Magic anticipate he will play some limited minutes tonight because that's his gritty style. Horace Grant (left knee) is still out.

HAWKS UPDATE: Atlanta has guaranteed that it will make the playoffs this season, and it got off to a good start Tuesday. The starting frontcourt of Theo Ratliff, Glenn Robinson and Shareef Abdur-Rahim is as dominating as they come, and Jason Terry is a better point guard than people think. Look for Ratliff, who will only play 14-16 minutes all preseason after recovering from a hip injury, to be even more of a factor after shaking off some rust. With the addition of Robinson, the Hawks now may have the best combination of starting forwards in the NBA. Ratliff, who missed 79 games last season because of the hip injury, makes the Hawks a more formidable defensive team. The guards are still a question. Terry is playing out of place, and Dion Glover and Emanual Davis are waging a weak battle at shooting guard.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Magic will continue to mix up the power forward and center combinations, trying to find the right fit.

ETC.: Two Magic players will sign autographs before each home preseason game from 5:30-5:45 p.m. Five players will greet fans as they enter the gates before each game, beginning at 5:45 p.m.
