A game at a time, the Russian kid is getting it figured out.

Friday night, Andrei Kirilenko played a key role ? and his best game of the season ? as the Jazz defeated the Atlanta Hawks, 110-97, at the Delta Center.

He's had better scoring games this season, better rebounding and shot-blocking games. But it was defense that made the difference this time, that lifted his game another notch.

The second-year forward came into the game knowing he'd face a challenge in Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson. Slightly more than a week ago in Atlanta, Robinson torched the Jazz for 30 in a Hawks victory. And most of those 30 came against Kirilenko.
