Marc Berman of the New York Post reports that Allan Houston has volunteered to play point guard when Latrell Sprewell returns to the Knicks lineup on Saturday. Considering their point guard deficiencies, Coach Don Chaney must consider the big backcourt of Houston and Sprewell with Lee Nailon playing the small forward.

"With Spree coming back, I don't mind playing that if we can create some mismatches - a third threat on the perimeter, maybe even the post," Houston said. "As long as we can get into our offense and defend on the other end, I think we can make up for it. I'll be ready for it if called upon."

Chaney likes the idea of Houston or Sprewell posting up smaller guards, but defensively the mis-match may not favor the Knicks. The trio could play together if Nailon slides to the power forward position, but that would leave them with an undersized frontcourt.
