Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports that if the Knicks trade Latrell Sprewell, the Dallas will probably not be his next destination. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said his Mavericks have no interest in swapping Sprewell for Nick Van Exel, who went on the injured list Monday following right knee surgery.

"That's the New York papers. That's their job, to make up stuff," Cuban said before his Mavs faced the Nets last night. When asked if there was any truth to the reports, he said: "Nothing. I would say so. I would tell you the truth, but no, there's no interest in trading Nick Van Exel for Latrell Sprewell.

"There's no interest in trading Nick Van Exel for some combination of guys on the Knicks. There's nothing there. There's always interest in trading for a good player, but what we'd be willing to offer they're probably not willing to take."

When asked about reports of the Knicks acquiring the Dallas center Shawn Bradley with their $4.5 million disabled player exception Cuban said, "Are you kidding me? No. We didn't use our $4.5 million exception. What good is it going to do to have another one from somebody else? No, no interest."
