One of the more memorable aspects of their first-ever trip to the NBA Finals, Jazz coach Jerry Sloan says, was a four-game losing streak that year.

The Jazz had won 15 in row early in the 1996-97 season, but they followed the streak with a horrible month when they went 6-10, capped by a stretch where they lost four straight and 6-of-7.

The lowly Philadelphia 76ers, just 8-26 at the time and in the midst of what would end up being a 13-game losing streak, were on the verge of adding to the Jazz woes, but Utah eked out a one-point win in overtime that turned their season around.

Starting with that victory in Philly, the Jazz would go 41-6 over the final three months of the season and roll all the way to the Finals.
