Ashley McGeachy Fox of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Monty Williams had just worked his way into the Sixers starting lineup, and now he may be out for a while. He has recently returned from surgery to repair torn ligaments in his left knee.

Williams had to have that knee drained Wednesday morning, but was still able to start against the Sonics Wednesday night. However, he left in the third quarter after straining his MCL in that same knee. The seriousness of the injury was not immediately known.

Williams? return allowed coach Larry Brown to bring Aaron McKie off the bench and limit his minutes as an undersized forward. Combined with guard/forward Greg Buckner, the team?s depth is much improved.

Against the Sonics, McKie left the court in the first half with flu-like symptoms.  But if Williams has to miss time with his latest injury, it is assumed that McKie will return to the starting lineup.
