Chris Webber knows what Jason Kidd is going through.. After all, he went through it all himself just two season ago.

Mark Hale of the New York Post writes that Webber is sympathetic towards Kidd for the attention surrounding the stellar guard's pending free agent status.

"He's in a tough position. He's definitely with a team that he built, he and Byron Scott," said Webber, basing his comments on the rumors that Kidd may unite with Tim Duncan. "Jason has never had a premier center to play with and I'm sure he's a big Magic fan. And Magic had Kareem."

"So I know, it's going to be a tough decision for him. I know what he's going to do. He's going to go with his heart, listen to his family and that's all he really can do."

Webber, who has also transformed a cellar team into a contender, said the pressure of off-the-court questions can be as trying as on-the-court performance.

"You don't want to step on anybody's toes. So actually, you should be quiet," Webber said.
