Sometimes the tiniest subtleties can trump the broadest strokes. Sometimes the unseen effort can outdo the splashiest play. Sometimes the Jazz can win a game full of loud dunks and arcing three-pointers because of a finger on a rebound or a toe on a pass.

That's what happened Wednesday night, when the streaking Suns showed off their freight-train offense that has carried them to the third-best record in the West, but the Jazz countered with hustle plays, second effort and an attention to detail that lifted them to their eighth win in 10 games, 99-93 in the Delta Center.

Stephon Marbury bulled his way to the basket for 29 points and 10 assists, and Shawn Marion put on a 10-for-15 shooting display from outside for 25 points, elements that normally are nearly enough by themselves to win games.
