Entering this season, little was expected of the Phoenix Suns or their fresh-out-of-high-school rookie, Amare Stoudemire.

Most preseason predictions had the Suns finishing either fourth or fifth in the tough Pacific Division, battling it out with the Sonics while lagging behind the Lakers, Blazers and Kings.

And while many folks were high on Stoudemire, it's doubtful you'd be able to find anyone who predicted he'd be not just a starter, but an impact player.

He's already the best player to go straight from high school to the NBA since Tracy McGrady, and he's on a pace to post the best scoring and rebounding stats of that group since Moses Malone came out of high school in Petersburg, Va., in 1974 to join the ABA's Utah Stars.
